[2001-07-20] Creating Web Pages For Phones, PDA's and Beepers
Wireless devices, like the new phones, PDA's and smart pagers, are growing in number as people may want to get information immediately no matter where they are. They may want: to check the weather, find a good restaurant, get directions to a movie theater, stock quotes and similar things like airline information. As useful and as popular as these devices are getting, there are a few considerations that need to be addressed that you don't have to worry about when making regular websites.
[2001-07-13] Using Include Files
Server Side Includes (SSI) are a powerful tool for code re-use and to make site maintenance easier. On this page alone, there are 2 includes, one of which includes other files in it. This can make it much easier for the developer to maintain a consistent site. One of the most popular uses for SSIs is to create uniform headers and footers, often with menu items. On this site, I have both a standard header and a standard footer, which are referenced from one include file, called articleformat.asp.
