Yahoo Heard You About Audio Search
The search crew at Yahoo has managed to work an Audio tab onto Yahoo's front page, to allow users to begin their music or podcast search as soon as they hit the site.
It looks like Yahoo has reached more confidence in its audio search features. While the stars of Yahoo search made their triumphant webcasting debut, the search team posted about making the big time - the Yahoo front page:
Whatever Yahoo isn't indexing with its Audio Search can be submitted. The company wrote a Media RSS specification that accompanied the debut of Audio Search. This spec better supports multimedia content; Yahoo also uses it for Video Search.
Yahoo product manager Ethan Fossett also reminded developers in the post about the availability of the Audio Search API. They list Web services for song, artist, album, and song download location searches. Rock on, Yahoo.
